Simple Elegance

Yesterday evening a dear friend of mind got married. Her wedding, like her life was one of simple elegance. The worship hall had no decoration, and she and her husband to be were seated on the podium facing the elder as he instructed them in Jehovah's way for them. It was like sitting in a family room and listening to your father. After the service we went to the reception hall, decorated in Snowflakes, and white and silver everywhere with candle light. The bride was radiant in a simple elegant white gown, and her groom was handsome in a black suit, white shirt, with a rose pink tie. Everyone present were there for the couple. There was no grumbling, family infighting, complaints about things that didn't go the way others wanted it to go. It was peaceful and beautiful, and when the bride danced with her father to Nat King Coles, "Unforgettable", I fought back tears.

I had watched her grow up these past 4 years and blossom into this woman that knows herself and gives so much to those around her. She taught me about love, and respect, and tolerance, and acceptance, like no preacher, or church ever had, even though our beliefs were so different from each others.

I wish them all the happiness and love that heaven can send their way. I know she will give her all to this venture, and I know he loves her and will do his best. They are going out into a world where what they are doing is so risky, only 50% make it, and much less make it good. I have faith in them however, because they have made this a marriage between Jehovah and themselves from before they even got married.
Here's to the health and happiness of Jennifer Sarah Belcher Luce & Daniel Jason Luce. May the God of all eternity and Love grant them eternal love.
